VisitBritain launches 360 interactive tours

VisitBritain has recently launched a series of interactive 360 degree videos showcasing attractions to overseas and national visitors before they arrive in the UK. The ‘Try Before You Buy’ series, was created by 3D specialist Rod Edwards and will allow users to interactively experience popular UK attractions such as Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Rosslyn Chapel, Durdle Door and Chatsworth House. Part of the government’s ‘GREAT’ tourism campaign, VisitBritain has said that the series aims to drive more international visitors to the nations and regions of Britain. Marketing Director at VisitBritain, Joss Croft said “Not only will this immersive experience allow potential visitors to snoop around some of our greatest tourism attractions before they arrive, but it will inspire and motivate more travel across the country.” Joss also added “London is a huge global asset for Britain – a dynamic, cosmopolitan and well-connected city that visitors aspire to visit. Our challenge is to encourage visitors to add to their holiday experience by exploring even more during their short time here and making sure they know how easy it is to get around.” The UK welcomed a record breaking 34.8 million international visitors in 2014, up three per cent from 2013. As a result of this, VisitBritain predicts that the UK will welcome another record breaking number of visitors, with figures predicted to reach 42 million international visitors annually by 2020.
