Quality in Tourism recently carried out a quality assessment at The Private Hill, Thrussendale Farm. Based in Acklam, North Yorkshire, The Private Hill sets out to offer a unique Glamping experience on the picturesque hills surrounded by natural beauty. Along with firepits, the range of activities The Private Hill also has its own bar and café to meet everyone’s Glamping needs.
The Private Hill, having been new to the Glamping world, decided to carry out a quality assessment in order to make sure they were offering the expected high standards that will enable them to separate themselves from others in a busy marketplace. Also allowing them to meet the luxury and high customer service standards that sit as their two key USP’s. Private Hill has been awarded a five star gold accolade with a Unique award.
Upon assessment, we were able to give some useful suggestions to help meet these key USP’s. From labelling food offerings at breakfast and charging guests a security deposit at check in, our assessor has been able to give helpful advice to be implemented into the business.
On completion of the assessment Roddy Hamilton, at The Private Hill, said that “dealing with QT really did give me the confidence that we were on the right track to deliver exceptional standards to our guests and that we really could provide the ‘wow’ factor that so many are looking for.”
For any others looking to start in the Glamping industry Roddy gives the advice to “decide what level you want to be offering to guests” and “leave absolutely no stone unturned to ensure that everything you do will consistently make you the best you possibly can be within that sector, A fantastic starting point would be QT.”
