Glasgow City Council has successfully banned a letting agent from letting a flat on Airbnb. Thought to be the first case of its kind, an estate agent lost an appeal heard by the Scottish Government against the first enforcement notice to be issued by the council and the ruling is thought to have implications for thousands of short-term landlords. According to the Scottish Association of Landlords (SAL) more needs to be done to stem the rise in short term lets like Airbnb in Scotland which said that a surge in the numbers in recent years is already having negative consequences for renters in Scotland.
