New figures on Airbnb rentals has highlighted the need for regulation within the sector as soon as possible as concerns for the housing market grows. The Irish town of Kildare currently has 306 properties listed on the site to date and according to the Irish Independent, over 5,000 properties were available on the short-term letting site in December, showing a 20 percent increase to the same month in 2017. Our Safe, Clean and Legal scheme has been approved as a Primary Authority co-ordinated partnership and means that for local authorities across the country there is a system in place to help 'register' properties that are advertising on shared economy platforms such as Airbnb or HomeAway.
